Child Protection

The Traditional Taekwondo Association is a member of the British Taekwondo Council, the National Governing Body for Taekwondo. The BTC has achieved NSPCC Advanced Standards in Safeguarding. The Traditional Taekwondo Association adheres to all of the BTC 's Safeguarding policies and procedures.

In keeping with the BTC (British Taekwondo Council) child protection policy, all instructors in the TTA are required to attend a child protection course and undergo a Criminal Records Bureau/Disclosure Scotland check prior to taking up the above positions.

All instructors receive certification confirming their eligibility to instruct in the art of Taekwondo and their suitability in working with children and vulnerable adults.

Dr. Chantal Lew Kum Hoi has been appointed as Child Safeguarding Officer on behalf of the TTA and works closely with the BritishTaekwonDo Council on child protection issues.

Should you wish to contact the TTA Child Protection Officer for any reason please contact the above mentioned.

This video shows several children involved in different sports describing how the behaviour of parents/spectators deteriorates when they wear their 'magic sports kit' -- i.e. when they compete. They talk about a range of bad adult behaviours and how these negatively impact on them. They then describe and promote positive behaviour.
